It'a a racoon! That's awesome! I've never seen one in the daytime wild like that up a tree . . .

They are babies
which may explain why they were out when they should have been in bed. As to being up in the tree, that is because our dog thought they would be a lot of fun to play with, but they didn't really want to play with such a big dog.
They later came down, ate some apples. We haven't seen them around recently, but I'm sure we'll see them soon enough.
